Private Hamptons Beach Party
Dune Rd. Westhampton Beach, NY Saturday July 14th, 2007 This is our 2nd time playing for Mike & Mary at their annual beach party in beautiful Westhampton Beach. The theme this year is "July 4-D-iTh". A combination of a belated July 4th party and our hosts' 40th birthday celebration. The weather could not have been any better. Mid 80's with a slight breeze and a great gathering of wonderful people.
Mike had requested alot of motown and new wave. We accomodated him quite a bit and he was very happy. We added a long list of party favorites as well. We played from 2pm-7:30pm. Mike asked us to stay on for another hour. We did get a 1/2 hour in. Maribeth's voice was nearing it's end after singing about 57 songs. It worked out perfectly. We had a crowd dancing on the deck right until the end. When we weren't playing we had a special playlist going on the IPOD so there was music at ALL times.
Our hosts were so happy they told us we are booked already for next years party. We gladly obliged. They are great folks and so are their guests. We had little helpers sharing the tambourine and as well as modeling the giveaways we brought. We do have to get down some Jimmy Buffet and a few Dead songs for Mike & Mary. We promise to work on that and have some ready for next year. And if you have any others, just let us know ahead of time...
The setlist for this party was huge. We played 5 1/2 hours with short breaks in between. Each song was received very well. When people weren't dancing they were moving. That's what it's all about. We were so happy to be able to play for this party again. We send out a special wish to Mike and Mary for a great rest of the year, we wish HAPPY BIRTHDAYS, peace and happiness until we see you again next summer... Thanks again for having us.
